"Children in Need"

While reading our annual reports over the past few years you most likely noticed that our company also maintains a social responsibility with its commitment to our work with foundations. In November 1996, on the occasion of the company's 100th anniversary, we inaugurated the Triumph-Adler Foundation "Children in Need". We made the conscious decision at the time not to celebrate our anniversary with the public at large, choosing instead to "invest" the money saved as a result in the Foundation. TA Triumph-Adler AG manages the foundation completely free of charge. Over the past few years we have managed to increase the 1 million DM original financial basis of the foundation through a variety of contributions to around € 700,000 as it now stands. Nevertheless, the articles of the foundation stipulate that only the income generated by the foundation's assets, and not the foundation's capital itself, may be used for donations. We have pledged our Foundation to provide fast and, above all, efficient support and material assistance to children and young people aged up to 21 who are mentally or physically ill, or who are in emotional or material need. Due to the large numbers of requests for assistance, we are increasingly concentrating our endeavors on our surrounding area here in Bavaria - with a special emphasis on projects in Nuremberg, where the main offices of our company are located. There is so much more that could be done. Unfortunately we have to regularly turn down requests for assistance due to our limited funds. Along with all the children in need, we would be most grateful if you, as a shareholder interested in assisting those in need in our society, could also help by making a donation to the Foundation "Children in Need".
